He has worked for public and private clients on institutional, commercial, and industrial projects and has been responsible for the preservation and restoration planning on many of the nations most significant heritage properties. |
National Trust Flood Recovery Project - Bonaparte, Iowa Forty two historic 19th and early 20th century buildings were damaged by summer 1993 flood waters. Because of federal funding requirements, Prairie Architects was required to prepare construction documents for all 42 buildings in just two months. Creating a highly organized system based on stat-of-the-art computer technology allowed us to meet this seemingly impossible goal in an economical fashion. |
Granger House - Marion Iowa The Granger House Museum suffered flood related damage during the summer of 1993, including the settlement of one corner of the house whose foundation rested on an abandoned cistern. Restoration work was performed in close coordination with the National Trust for Historic Preservation Flood Response Program and the State Historic Society of Iowa. |

Pottery Barn - Bonaparte, Iowa The Bonaparte Pottery Barn, represents a relatively rare example of clearly expresses heavy timber construction and brick infill. Damages sustained during the flooding of the summer of 1993 resulted in substantial damage to the foundations and underpinnings, as well as masonry instability. |
Swedish Huckster Barn - Swedesburg, Iowa The Swedish Huckster Barn in the tiny Swedish-American community of Swedesburg , Iowa, provided a place for a huckster, or traveling salesman, to store his wagon for the night. Prairie Architects guided the restoration of this barn for use as a historical museum. |
J.F. Clarke House Designed in 1959 by Francis Barry Byrne, a fellow of Frank Lloyd Wright, features bold and heavy massing, precise geometric shapes, and crisp, clean edges. It is considered one of Byrne's most important works. |
